Lexile is a measurement of text complexity, or how hard something is to read and understand. Most books published recently for children and young adults have a Lexile level calculated for them-- you can usually find them on your library or bookseller website. MAP Growth results include a Lexile range for the student. If the student books in their Lexile range, the student will be able to understand what they are reading, while being challenged enough to help them improve. Lexile levels can be used to find reading comprehension exercises on Readworks.org and Newsela.com. Lexile is a trademark of MetaMetrics, Inc., and is registered in the United States and abroad. You can learn more about Lexile measurements at Lexile.com.
